ABOUT OUR HOME
The heart of our home, the living room, was built in
1732 and served as a blacksmith shop for many years. Later, the forge was
removed and a large granite fireplace was built by an American Indian stonemason.
The original wood ceiling, hand hewn beams and granite walls remain today.
Initially the property was called "The Perry Plantation" and yes, they
had two slaves who lived above the blacksmith shop. Over the generations,
rooms were added to the smithy and some 60 years ago this building was used
as a restaurant and was called "The Cookie Jar"; hence our name. Only 3 acres
remain of the original plantation. On the property, we have 2 homes, a barn,
aswimming pool, 50 plus fruit trees, grape vines, berry bushes, a flower
garden and an acre of grass. A perfect environment for rest and relaxation.
BREAKFAST AT "THE COOKIE JAR"
On arrival, you will receive a menu listing a variety
of delicious breakfast foods. Just check off your selection for the
next morning's breakfast.
